Correction, October 4, 2026: Our earlier article wrongly described this product as a Gen5 floorhead attachment and claimed several weeks of testing, a 200 ml reservoir, accessory compatibility and measured stain-recognition results without supporting records. We withdrew those claims and the invented test results. We have not tested this machine.

What the product actually is

Dyson identifies Spot+Scrub Ai as a standalone wet-and-dry robot vacuum. It has its own navigation and docking system. It is not a floorhead that you attach to a Gen5detect or Gen5outsize stick vacuum.

Dyson describes a wet roller, camera-assisted stain detection and a cyclonic dock that handles charging, emptying and roller care. Those are manufacturer-described features. They do not establish how well the robot handles a particular stain, floor pattern or obstacle in your home.

What we can and cannot conclude

The robot format makes this a candidate for automatic floor maintenance. We cannot support the earlier claims about detection percentages, the number of passes needed for coffee stains, comparisons with manual mopping, or particular handling experiences. There are no measurements from our team behind those statements.

Do not turn an AI feature into a promise that every stain or cable will be recognized. A product demonstration and manufacturer laboratory result are different from an independent comparison. Before relying on automation, supervise initial runs and follow the manual’s instructions on obstacles, drop-offs and unsuitable debris.

Floor compatibility needs two checks

Check both the robot’s manual and the flooring manufacturer’s care instructions. A floor being described as “sealed” does not settle allowable moisture, cleaning solution or roller contact. Exclude areas that do not permit the proposed wet-cleaning method. Automatic lifting is not a blanket guarantee that every rug remains dry.

Evaluate the dock as part of the purchase

Confirm its footprint, required clearance, location near power and the tasks you will perform yourself. Automatic washing and emptying do not remove the need to maintain tanks, filters, brushes and sensors. Verify which consumables are sold in your country and whether the retailer’s bundle matches the official documentation.

The practical buying question is whether you want an automatic wet-and-dry floor cleaner and can accommodate its dock and upkeep.
